After a very well received LEK in the Summer, our magazine Editor DA, has had to step down due to unforeseen work commitments.
The Bird Club are looking for someone who would like to take this role on....
You would not be alone !
A proof reader & an assistant have volunteered, but as yet we have no Editor to take this forward......
MY PERSONAL OPINION:-
On the other hand, after twelve & a half years, maybe that magazine has had its day ?
Its costs a considerable amount of money to produce...
What do you think ?
We MUST be able to relay club news, information, details of new initiatives in a timely matter to ALL our members - whilst we have a plethora of means of communication at our disposal, a magazine or newsletter to each doorstep is the only way to ensure EVERY member is kept up to date.
The vast majority of members will have access to this website - we could create "a LEK" within the website on a quarterly basis, to run alongside a printed mailshot / newsletter with Club news, meeting & field trip dates & details, AGM papers etc
You would not believe the time & effort the committee put into all the work behind the scenes - please get in touch, make your views known & see where you can help us out....
NB: This last quarter has seen members come forward to volunteer to
organise & lead field trips / indoor meetings / projects & bird surveys....
It would be great to get hear from any member who would like to help out.
Please Email the club account (all committee members have access to respond there) if you have any feedback be it positive or otherwise.
ATB for 2018.
I think we need something similar to the lek it's nice to get something through the door to read.
Some County Clubs have a Monthly Newsletter... if only we had that much to shout about.... Hey ! Maybe we do.....?
