The annual National Whale and Dolphin Watch, organised by the Sea Watch Foundation, runs this year from Saturday 25 July to Sunday 2 August.

It seeks to involve the general public (including DBC members) in the collection of records of whales, dolphins and porpoises around the country.

Watch points are already organised for Whitburn Bird Observatory and for Hartlepool Bay for each of the nine days, but there is scope for other observers to undertake observations elsewhere along the Durham coast.

If you would like to be involved please contact nwdw@seawatchfoundation.org.uk as soon as possible.
