Durham Bird Club will be holding indoor meetings this autumn at a new venue of All Saints Church, Carr House Drive, Newton Hall, Durham City DH1 5LT. Eel Research at Castle Lake
From August 10th to 13th Tees Rivers Trust will have a small boat on Castle Lake to net and. potentially, tag European silver eels as part of a Natural England funded project using acoustic telemetry. The project workers will be there with the permission of the landowner, and Durham Bird Club has provided advice on how to minimise any disturbance to the birds using the site.

DBC Annual General Meeting, 3 September 2026 and presentation by Brian Clasper
Planning is now underway for the 2026 Club Annual General Meeting, which will take place on Thursday 3rd September at 7.00 p.m. at our new venue of All Saints Church, Carr House Drive, Newton Hall, Durham DH1 5LT. The documentation for the business part of the meeting will be added here over the coming days and will be complete no later than 18 August, with most papers available well before that.
